Lake-Charles.com does not run its own peer certification. Training and credentialing are delivered by accredited nonprofit and state partners — and we're proud to point you their way.

Where to get certified

Start with the state credential, then connect with a regional partner to find a training cohort and supervised hours nearby.

What the path looks like

A typical Louisiana CPSS journey, regardless of which partner you train with.

    Eligibility check

    12+ months continuous recovery, ability to share lived experience, background check.

  2. 2

    40-hour training

    Ethics, recovery models, motivational interviewing, crisis response, documentation.

  3. 3

    500 supervised hours

    Logged at a treatment center, sober living home, or community organization.

  4. 4

    State exam & application

    Submit to Louisiana OBH for the CPSS credential. Renew with continuing education.
